Yes, I am still alive!

So I know that I have been MIA for a while.  So here is my latest project.  A good friend of mine had a birthday! So what better reason to whip out a cute bag?

Do you like how I had to take a picture of it in my car right before I dropped it off? Lets just say I am glad that I remembered BEFORE I gave it to her!

More projects to come...

Apron anyone?

My friend Jen's kids have been over today.  Her oldest, Rian, and I made the cutest apron!  Rian picked out the pattern and the fabric.  Isn't she cute?

Laundry Room Makeover

So I have always had an issue with our laundry room.  I know I should not complain, because I have a laundry room.  But it is on the verge of being a closet really.  I mean I cannot have the door open and open the dryer at the same time.  so I just took the door off and put it in the basement.  Well we just got a new warranty guy and since I complain to anyone that will listen... This time it paid off.  He has come in and switched the washer and the dryer.  This takes nothing short of a small army.  Movers, plumper, heating guy, movers again, someone to hang the door.  Really?  I think I could do all this by myself. Anyways the movers did not come back the first day. Well, they did but I was at the bus stop.  So the point to all this is I got the gumption to paint the laundry room.  But what color?  I was thinking red (mostly because I have a gallon of red).  Then my friend Leah said, "what about the yellow in the kitchen?"  I love that yellow but I was not sure that I had enough.  I still needed to paint by the garage door.  So yesterday I started to paint in the kitchen to see if I had enough yellow paint (and that project needed to be done for about months).  Well, I think that I already knew it, but there was not enough paint for the laundry room.  So I just went with the cappuccino color that is the main part of the house.  I think that it turned out great!  I also found a closet rod at Lowe's for $4.31, and I had this little cubby hangy thingy and the baskets already.

Here is the garage door.
They still have not come back to move the washer and dryer or hung the door. But, last night I just could not wait any longer.  So I moved the dryer and folded some laundry that was still in the dryer when they moved it. I know what you are thinking, "Who is this girl who is doing laundry.  I thought that she hated it?"  I know and I probably will in a day or two.  But when it is in a newly painted laundry room who couldn't like it?

Just realized it has been way too long...

Just realized it has been a month since my last post.  I have been crafting just not posting. Sorry to you readers... ok, reader. Not much time to go into to much detail, because we are having another group session tonight.  So I need to get busy and put up the front that I have a clean house.
This chair is the start to my latest craftiness.  I got it at a local thrift store for $7.50!  Bought some spray paint for $14.  Took it apart and puttied the holes painted it and then put it back together.  Now I have a super duper great chair for my sewing room.
I think it turned out awesome!

So I started on another one.  This is very similar to a stool that we had growing up.  In fact, my Mom recently bought a new unfinished stool just like this one and paid $50!  So what a find when I found this one for all of $3.50! So with the paint for another $3.50.  I think that it is awesome for $7!
The kids love it, and it reminds me of home. Another success!
So here is the latest find!  In my neighbors trash!  They threw this beauty out, can you believe it?  I had to fight off some other scavengers to get it. Not really, they were still a few doors down!  I had to act fast.
There are only a few things that need to be done.  One of the arms is scratched up pretty bad. And that arm was pretty loose, but I have already taken care of that.  The leather is in pretty good shape no scratches or rips.
It is also missing a caster.  If anyone knows how to fix those please let me know before I attempt surgery to take it off.

I am also redoing some end tables that we already had.  I forgot to take a before pictures, but all that I have done so far is sand the top.

Group Therapy...

Last Thursday night we had craft night.  We made dolls and had a great time doing it!  We even had some novice sewers that were able to take a doll home.  The fun lasted to the wee hours of the morning.
I think that skirts are on the docket for our next project.

Trift Store Find...

I am almost done refinishing this awesome chair.  I am painting it black.  My sewing room is very excited for it to be complete!

Three of anything...

The problem with making THREE Easter dresses is that by the time you finish one you want to move on to another project.

Has it really been two weeks...

I cannot believe that it has been two weeks since my last post.  Sorry about that.  There has been a lot of crafting going on.  Just have not documented it.

Last week my sister came to town and we had a great time.  We made a super cute crib skirt for her baby that will be here in two months.  (sorry no pictures, maybe she could send one and I will post it.)  Then we started the massive (and when I say massive I mean it) curtains for the family room.  The ceilings are 18th high.  I still need to hem them and I think they need some trim, but that requires me to go to the store.  I know that I have quite the stocked sewing room, but home decor trim is not something I have in stock.  Back to crafting.  So those curtains are well on their way.  I just hung the curtains in the kitchen for the sliding glass door.  I personally think they look awesome~ It does need a tie back.  Will work on that today.  Along with the curtains for over the sink.  I also want to get the girls curtains done today.  They just need me to make the tabs and cover some buttons.

Some other things that have been crafted as of late are:

My friend Amy Herbert came over and we made her girls some super cute dolls.  She also came over yesterday and we made the dolls some skirts. (sorry I forgot to take a picture of the skirts).  We are going to make them blankets on Saturday!

Oh and last week I found out we had to make a leprechaun trap.  That was due that day!  So this is what we came up with in an hour!

There are several other things that have been crafted, but I need to get better on my picturing.

I know some of you are wondering what my kids are doing while I am crafting.  So here you go.
Benjamin likes to craft with my grocery's!
Zachary likes to eat what I make with the grocery's
...Or play games!  (Yeah that was fun to clean up)
Or Princess Dancing!

Recent Craftyness...

I know I know I am slacking on the posting!
Here are just a few of the most recent therapy sessions with my therapist  good 'ole Mr. Brother Sewing Machine!

I made some pens like these (forgot to take a picture before giving them to her!)  They were super cute and not too hard.  Here is a tutorial on them.

Here another group therapy.  My friend Amy just moved back so we had a craft night in her honor, and her new baby Eleanor.  We made headband and clips.
Fun was had by all.
(I would post individual pictures of items, but none were taken.  And Claire left hers at church yesterday)

Here is a skirt that I made for Claire to go with the headband (not pictured).

This is the ironing board cover I recently made.  I was sick and tired of the old stained one~

Off to craft some more...

So I finished the birthday present!  And just in time for the party!  I went a head and made a reversible skirt for the stinking cute doll.  And I also finished the skirt for Katie the BIRTHDAY girl!

Let me know what you think!
